Every time someone tells me they're heading to Los Cabos, the first question is always "is the food really spicy?" (yes, embarrassingly so) but the last urgent question, when departure looms ahead and the sunbathing goals are achieved, is "where can I buy cool things to bring back home?" (yes, just like that).
And well… honestly, my answer always depends entirely on who they are! I customize it because I have both hippie and very posh friends apparently!
Los Cabos has a little of everything. The colorful market stall and the hushed concept store. The loud and joyful and the quiet and lasting. The key is knowing which door to push.
So here is what I recommend to my friends, organized not by neighborhood, but by what they're actually looking for. Hoping it helps you as well!

If you want something colorful, cheerful and very Baja
This is most people, and Los Cabos delivers.
My favorites downtown are Curios Carmela and Shima Shima. There are a lot of options but those two are packed with the kind of bright, handcrafted Mexican things that make excellent gifts: painted ceramics, woven pouches, embroidered everything. Prices are kind to your wallet, the vibe is warm and generous, and the quality is also there. You will leave with more than you planned. That's not a warning, it's a promise.
If you're already at Flora Farms, look for Eclectic Array and Etnia: same joyful spirit, slightly more curated. Perfect for a colorful keepsake that travels well.
If you want something beautiful to wear
I love Kere, a designer boutique in downtown San José del Cabo (they also have a store in Todos Santos). Handbags and resort dresses that walk the line between luxury and relaxed beach style, the kind of thing you pack light and end up wearing everywhere during the summer. Real craft, real design, worth the detour, I think.

If you want the classic luxury brand experience in a stunning setting
The new Anima Village is worth visiting for the architecture alone: a beautifully designed open-air plaza that genuinely takes your breath away. The boutiques inside carry international luxury brands, so you won't discover anything exclusive to Baja here. Some stores might have specific collections… but I didn't see any last time I went. As an afternoon stroll with good light, a cold drink and a few photos? Lovely.
If Thursday evening finds you in San José del Cabo
Go to the Art Walk around 5pm. Every Thursday night the downtown arts district comes alive: galleries open, musicians play, the streets smell like margaritas, food and possibility. It's more of an experience than a shopping trip, probably, but there are some genuinely lovely little shops along the route (like Shima Shima). Yes, you can also buy expensive art in the many galleries.
If you want something made here, designed here, found nowhere else yet and wearable everywhere (oh yeah!)
Well. That's where I come in!

Anne Sidora is my concept boutique at Flora Farms, ten minutes from downtown San José del Cabo. The name comes from the ancient Greek for "gift-giver" and that intention runs through everything in the store, with a twist of French elegance and poetry.
I design objects inspired by the poems I write while traveling and living here in Baja California Sur. It's different, it's personal and relatable, and it's an innovative way to turn poetry into intentional objects you can hold, wear and live with.
You will see poems illustrated on silk scarves (one with the map of Baja), artisan ceramics shaped for slow mornings and peaceful evenings, handmade candles and incense holders for the rituals that tame your chaos, original jewelry designed to be worn every day, not saved for special occasions. And of course, some special curated gift boxes for the people who deserve something that was truly thought about. (Like your parents watching your kids or pets while you're in Cabo!)
Oh I almost forgot to mention the coolest deck of cards inspired by Baja you will ever see. Yes, I’m bragging about it… but seriously, it’s very cool!
These are not just souvenirs or keepsakes. They are objects that carry the poetry of living with them. Their story starts in Baja California Sur but you get to write the adventures they go on to.
If you only have time for one stop and you want something truly unique to Los Cabos and to Mexico: you know where to find me!
One last thing: whatever your budget, whatever your taste, Los Cabos has a shop with your name on it. The trick is knowing where to look. Now you do.
And if you're not sure, email me at studio@annesidora.com or send me a DM on Instagram.
With Love,
Anne.
